Two Local Propane and Welding Companies Form Strategic Alliance

Irish Companies and Jackson Welding Focus on Strengths, Growth

October 31, 2011 (Buffalo, NY) - Irish Welding Supply, Irish Propane, and Jackson Welding and Gas Products have entered into a formal strategic alliance which will enable each company to focus on growing their respective core businesses in the Buffalo and Rochester regions.

The agreement includes the transfer of the assets of Irish Welding Supply to Jackson Welding and Gas Products. Jackson will acquire the industrial, medical, and specialty gas assets of Irish Welding in Buffalo, NY. In turn, Irish Propane has acquired propane and carbon dioxide assets from Jackson Welding to facilitate their propane and carbonic business growth in the Rochester, NY market. As part of the agreement, Irish Propane will establish an office in Rochester at Jackson’s Buffalo Road office and bulk propane storage facility.

"We each believe that taking these proactive steps now will help us focus on our respective core businesses," said Robert Jackson, president and CEO of Jackson Welding and Gas Products. "Teaming with the Irish Companies is the perfect move for us, and will provide significant opportunities for each of us in the future."

Laurie Irish-Jones, CEO of Irish Companies, wholeheartedly concurs. "This agreement enables us to focus on growing our propane and carbonic business, and to expand our footprint into Rochester. And the best part is that we were able to do this by working closely with a local company, and keep all the business right here in the region."

The companies plan to share technology, marketing, and operational resources. The strategic moves are expected to strengthen each individual company as they seek to grow their businesses and expand their respective market shares in New York State. During a brief transition period, Jackson Welding and Gas Products will be sharing the Irish facility on Clinton Street in Buffalo. Jackson Welding will then be relocating its operations to a permanent headquarters and atmospheric gas packaging plant in Rochester, along with a soon-to-be determined new store location in the Buffalo metropolitan area.

Irish Carbonic along with Red Diamond Dry Ice and CO2 Corporation will continue to seek opportunities for growth.
Irish Carbonic will continue to be based at 1444 Clinton Street and Red Diamond will relocate to its new facility on
Buffalo Road in Rochester.
